About the Therapist!

Shauna Clifford, M.S., SLP-CCC is the therapist behind Salt, Sand, & Speech. She is a proud alumnus of La Salle University in Philadelphia, PA., after completing their rigorous 5 year BS/MS program.  Shauna has worked exclusively in pediatric settings since graduate school, opting to forego her adult/geriatric rotation in favor of furthering her understanding of pediatrics and speech therapy's connection to early childhood education.  Her previous experience includes a preschool for students who were Deaf or Hard of Hearing, a Head Start preschool, and school districts including Philadelphia, PA, Danbury, CT, and Guilford, CT. Educational speech therapy is her passion! Her area of love for speech therapy includes articulation, motor speech, and Childhood Apraxia of Speech. Shauna uses a literacy-based approach in as many therapy sessions, as applicable. She believes that the tie in of literacy and language cannot be ignored, and that this method is also the best way to facilitate carryover into the classroom.  Some fun facts about Shauna is that she is also a dance teacher on the side, loves to build Lego sets, and read fantasy novels.

This Spring we have the pleasure of being joined by a graduate clinician from Emerson College!
